Life at BBIS Boarding balances a structured schedule with free time, fostering a ‘home away from home’ environment in which students have the support they need to feel safe and comfortable.
While every day is different, the scheduled moments offer the security of a routine. Here’s what a typical school day looks like:

Weekday afternoons are filled with art, music, drama and sports activities offered at school and in boarding. Our boarders can also access extra language instruction for German.
ON THE WEEKENDS
On weekends, we regularly take the students on excursions to experience Berlin’s diverse institutional, cultural and recreational offerings. We also offer a range of fun activities to keep them engaged.
Four or five evenings a year, we hold a “Culture Night” to celebrate the different cultures represented in boarding school. Students from one country cook a national dish together with the other boarding school students. They also decorate the dining room, choose culturally appropriate music and prepare a presentation and/or an activity for the boarding group.
